Club MotoJoe Constitution

1. Name of the Club

The club shall be called MotoJoe Club, hereinafter referred to as “the Club.”

2. Objectives

The objectives of the Club are:

2.1. Promote the Spirit of Off-Road Riding

Foster a culture that celebrates the excitement, challenge, and camaraderie of motocross, enduro, rally, and adventure riding.

2.2. Support Rider Development

Provide training, mentorship, and resources to help riders of all experience levels improve their skills and confidence in off-road environments.

2.3. Build a Welcoming Community

Create an inclusive and supportive space for motorcycle enthusiasts to connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships.

2.4. Organise Events and Activities

Host group rides, training sessions, and competitive events to encourage participation and growth in off-road motorcycling across Scotland and beyond.

2.5. Encourage Responsible Riding

Promote safe, ethical, and environmentally conscious riding practices among members and the wider motorcycling community.

2.6. Advance Motorcycling Opportunities

Collaborate with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to expand access to off-road riding venues, events, and training programs.

2.7. Represent and Advocate for Riders

Act as a voice for the off-road motorcycling community, advocating for policies and initiatives that support the sport’s development and sustainability.

3. Membership

3.1. Eligibility:

  • Membership is open to any individual who shares the Club’s objectives and adheres to its rules.

3.2. Membership Tiers:

  • Full Members: Riders with motorcycles.
  • Associate Members: Non-riders or enthusiasts.
  • Honorary Members: Appointed by the Committee for outstanding contributions to the Club.

3.3. Membership Fees:

  • Annual fees shall be determined by the Committee and approved at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  • Fees are non-refundable.
  • Members two calendar months in arrears shall be considered inactive

3.4. Code of Conduct:

  • Members must act in the best interests of the Club and adhere to its rules during all activities.

4. Committee

4.1. Committee: The Club shall be managed by a Committee elected at the AGM.

4.2. Terms of Office

  • Officers shall serve one-year terms.
  • Elections held annually in December.
  • No term limits shall apply.
  • Officers may be removed by two-thirds majority vote.

4.3. Roles:

  • Chairperson: Leads the Club and presides over meetings.
  • Secretary: Manages correspondence, meeting minutes, and membership records.
  • Treasurer: Oversees finances and provides annual reports.
  • Events Coordinator: Organises rides, rallies, and other activities.

4.4. Elections:

  • Committee members shall be elected annually by majority vote at the AGM.
  • All members are eligible to stand for election.

4.5. Meetings:

  • The Committee shall meet quarterly to plan activities and review progress.
  • Robert’s Rules of Order shall govern meetings.

5. General Meetings

5.1. Annual General Meeting (AGM):

  • Held once a year to review activities, approve finances, and elect the Committee.
  • Members shall be given at least 21 days’ notice.

5.2. Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs):

  • May be called by the Committee or by a written request from at least two-thirds of members.
  • 48 hours notice (minimum) required for special meetings.

5.3. Quorum:

  • A quorum for general meetings shall be two-thirds of members.

6. Finances

6.1. The Club’s funds shall be used solely for achieving its objectives.

6.2. The Treasurer shall maintain accurate financial records and prepare an annual statement.

6.3. Club funds shall be held in a bank account requiring at least two Committee members’ signatures for transactions.

6.4. No member may profit financially from the Club’s activities.

7. Events and Activities

7.1. All events organised by the Club must adhere to safety regulations and the law.

7.2. Members participate in Club events at their own risk, and the Club is not liable for personal injury or property damage.

7.3. All participants in rides and rallies must comply with road safety rules (where applicable).

8. Amendments to the Constitution

8.1. Amendments to this constitution may only be made at an AGM or EGM.

8.2. Proposed amendments must be submitted to the Secretary at least 14 days before the meeting.

8.3. Amendments require a two-thirds majority of members present and voting.

9. Dissolution

9.1. The Club may be dissolved by a two-thirds majority vote at a general meeting.

9.2. Any remaining funds, after settling debts, shall be donated to a charitable organisation chosen by the members.

10. Adoption

10.1 This constitution was adopted by the founding members of MotoJoe Club on 1 Feb 2025.
